Finalist for Net Hero Award at the 2025 Small Awards

Oseng-Rees Reflection Ltd has been selected as a finalist for the Net Hero Award at the 2025 Small Awards

We’re thrilled to share some exciting news — again! Oseng-Rees Reflection Ltd has been selected as a finalist for the Net Hero Award at the 2025 Small Awards, a prestigious recognition that celebrates the UK’s most inspiring small businesses.

This nomination is a powerful affirmation of our mission: turning waste into beauty and sustainability into a way of life.

Innovation Meets Environmental Impact

At Oseng-Rees Reflection, we believe that design and sustainability can — and should — coexist. Led by our founder and creative director Dr. Tyra Oseng-Rees, we transform waste glass from construction, demolition, and even discarded bottles into premium architectural materials. Our panels aren’t just functional — they’re stunning, often resembling marble or stone, and they’re made from 100% recycled glass. We’re proud to say we’re the only company in the UK producing fused glass architectural panels entirely from waste. It’s not just recycling — it’s redefining what recycled materials can be.

A Highlight Project: The Buttermarket Transformation

One of our most meaningful projects to date involved repurposing 1.5 tonnes of glass bottles into 800 handcrafted tiles for the exterior of the Grade II listed Buttermarket building in Redruth, Cornwall. The result? A blend of heritage and innovation that’s now award-winning — and a shining example of what sustainable design can achieve.

Recognising the Power of Small Businesses

The Small Awards, run by Small Business Britain, are in their ninth year and showcase the best of the UK’s 5.5 million small firms. The Net Hero Award specifically honours businesses that are actively making a difference in environmental sustainability.

“Every year, the Small Awards celebrate the UK’s most inspiring small business owners, who are the heart of their communities. Dr. Tyra Oseng-Rees is extremely deserving of being a finalist, and we look forward to celebrating her achievements in May”

Michelle Ovens CBE, founder of Small Business Britain.

Looking Ahead

The awards ceremony will take place on 22 May 2025 at St Mary’s Church in London. It’s a moment of recognition not just for us, but for all businesses pushing the boundaries of innovation and sustainability.

We’re incredibly proud to be part of a movement that values conscious design, environmental responsibility, and the power of circular thinking.

Thank you to our community, partners, and supporters — we wouldn’t be here without you.
