The Grand Opening of the Buttermarket in Redruth, Cornwall

On Friday, 24th January 2025, the historic Buttermarket in Redruth, Cornwall, officially reopened, marking a significant milestone. Oseng-Rees Reflection traveled from Wales to witness this special event and view the stunning recycled glass wall, crafted from 1.5 tonnes of discarded glass bottles. This transformation highlights the dedication and vision of Redruth Revival and underscores the importance of sustainable building practices. And what an incredible experience it is to see hard work finally in place

Oseng-Rees traveled from Wales to view the glass wall in person.

Witnessing such a historic building brought back to life is truly amazing. Hearing the stories of the vision, dedication, and risks taken by the Redruth Revival Board members is incredibly inspiring. The belief and financial support from all the funders** , and above all, the perseverance and commitment of the architects in bringing this vision to reality, leave me deeply honoured. Knowing that the recycled glass tiled wall has been given such a prominent place in this development is incredibly moving.

Standing there on the opening day, surrounded by people who have been part of this journey, I feel a sense of shared pride. Seeing the completed project and knowing our work has contributed to such a remarkable transformation makes this moment unforgettable.
