Crafting Excellence: the Best of Belron 2024 Awards

The Best of Belron is a prestigious event celebrating top-tier vehicle glass repair and replacement. In 2024, this global competition took place in Lisbon, Portugal, where top technicians showcased their skills. This year, I had the unique honour, as the artist and owner of Oseng-Rees Reflection, to craft the award trophies, medallions, and speakers’ gifts from waste car glass.

When tasked with creating these distinctive trophies, I knew it would be both a challenging and innovative project. Transforming waste car glass into prestigious awards required extensive research and development. Car glass varies in cleanliness, transparency, and composition, presenting a unique set of challenges. However, I saw this as an opportunity to blend technical expertise with environmental consciousness.

In my studio at Oseng-Rees Reflection, I experimented with various techniques to refine the fusion process of car glass. Each piece of glass had its own story and characteristics, which I wanted to preserve in the final product.

My work on this project was driven by a commitment to sustainability. Repurposing waste car glass into awards for such a prestigious event underscored the importance of environmental responsibility in the automotive industry. This project was more than just creating art; it was about setting a new standard for excellence and sustainability.
