The R&D of the car glass material

In an industry often synonymous with waste, the decision to repurpose waste car glass into award trophies was both symbolic and pioneering. At Oseng-Rees Reflection, we were entrusted with the task of crafting distinctive trophies from this material. Given the unprecedented nature of the project, extensive research and development were undertaken to examine, test, and refine the fusion process of car glass at our facility. It is worth noting that car glass varies significantly in terms of cleanliness, transparency, and composition. Here, we present a selection of the intriguing glass specimens produced during our experimental endeavours, including a captivating polka dot texture that evokes the original black paint adorning the glass.

As part of the Best of Belron team I contacted Tyra to see if she could design and create a unique trophy for Belron’s Premier Event the Best of Belron 2024 in Lisbon, Portugal. Tyra supported our business principles and aligned the trophies to the spirit of the best of Belron awards. She worked so hard to support us deciding the trophies and texture. Being Belron we threw in some of our own requirements and expectations which was never an issue. Using broken toughened glass from the Autoglass business Tyra provided several options all stunning. We agreed on the design and finish. The results were stunning as you can see from the images posted online. We had tremendous feedback from everyone who has seen and touched the trophies. Tyra is a true genius from the concept of using glass to the final product, we are so proud we chose Tyra for our event. Thank you Tyra.
